Identification and organization of the tourism product for the “Ruta del Tequila”, Mexico

 

Project description:
 
The main objective of the ‘Tequila Route’ project was the increase in competitiveness of the PMI (tourist and refined sectors) in the Tequila region (El Arenal, Amatitán, Tequila, Magdalena and Teuchitlán in the state of
Jalisco) and the implementation of a strategic plan for the development of the area.
 
The proposal was to develop a network of tourist businesses that would help stimulate tourism and based on a common vision, would develop and commercialize products and services based on the needs of the national and international markets.
 
Target Euro was hired by the Governing council of Tequila the executive agency for the financial program of funds provided by FOMIN/BID, with the objective of identifying, designing and organizing of tourist products and packages for the ‘Ruta del Tequila’ or Tequila Route.
 
Futhermore, to help tourist development in the short term, the technical assistance supplied consisted in the identification of concrete activities for the development of certain areas considered fundamental for the ‘Tequila Route’.
 
Services Rendered:
·          Detailed analysis of the amount of tourist services offered.
·          Analysis of existing and possible tourism questions.
·          Definition of the portfolio of tourist products , both short and long term, for the ‘Tequila Route’
·          Identification and design of tourist packages to commercialize in both the short and long term.
·          Definition of the necessary actions needed to develop the more representative areas of the ‘Tequila route’.
·          Definition of the suggestions and actions needed for the development of tourist offers for the ‘Tequila route, in both the long and short term.
